COVER REVEAL: Opal (Lux, #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Author Jennifer L. Armentrout has released the cover for OPAL the third novel in the Lux Series, along with the official blurb and release date.
Opal is slated to released in both Digital and Print format on December 11th 2012 by Entangled.
Color me esctatic. I cannot wait for December, I'm still writing my review for Onyx because that book was so good that I'm trying hard not to turn my review into a short story. HEHE.
Just the mention of Daemon Black sends me cray-z! And this cover is gorgeous. December better come quick 'cuz I need my next fix of Daemon and Katy.

Official Blurb:

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

REVIEW: Ceaseless (Existence, #3) by Abbi Glines

SPOILER: I am going to be totally gushy about this book becasue I love it so much so bear with me 'kay?

5 of 5 stars for Ceaseless ( Existence, #3) by Abbi Glines. Swear that it was the best of the trilogy and trust me, with a series as good as this? It wasn't an easy feat. I started reading it as soon as I got it and didn't stop till I was finished. Abbi Glines has done it again. She's turned my world upside down and it had everything to do with the brooding, sexy entity know as Death or Dankmar.

Just when I thought this series couldn't get any better, it totally did and I fell even more in love with Dank. It couldn't have happened at a worst time because this was the last book of the trilogy and I'm going to have withdrawals.

I anticipated this novel right after finishing "Predestined" and it didn't disappoint in the least but exceeded all my expectations. I am so going to read this one over and over.

So as this novel starts, we already know that Jay is apparently Pagan's soul-mate. That had me in a tizzy until I read the novel. Pagan has been stripped of all memory of Dank so that she doesn't remember him. AT ALL. He's supposed to win her fair and square if her soul chooses him over it's soul-mate (Jay).

Knowing that Pagan didn't remember him and he had to win her love all over again, competing with her soul-mate, was torture for Dank but he handled it well, most times. Getting so much from Dank's POV was really great. We really got to see inside his heart, how much he loved Pagan and just wanted her happiness. How much he needed her. How lost he was without her. I had some heart-clenching moments reading this novel and a near cry but I held it together.

On the flip side, I loved having Gee there throughout, she was very entertaining and the development of Miranda's and Nathan's ( Wyatt's) meeting and relationship. This one was a lot less YA and a bit more contemporary YA as the girls were now in college.

When Pagan remembered Dank and the scenes thereafter were absolutely positively my favorite of the novel. I just love them together. I just loved this series and I feel the gushing coming on so I'm going to have to stop soon.

I'll just say that you won't be disappointed in this novel, it was well worth the wait. It's the best of an already stellar series. It's also bittersweet, being the last novel in the trilogy, which may lead to crying or the urge to. Abbi Glines was a master with this one and I just flat-out, with no other words, loved it so much! One of the BEST-OF-2012

REVIEW: Blood, Bath & Beyond by Michelle Rowen

Sarah Dearly is back, better than ever and still can't keep out of trouble! 5/5 stars!
When we last left Sarah, she and Thierry had just gotten engaged and they'd triumphed over Gideon Chase. Now everyone is moving on with their lives and Sarah feels  . . . I'm not sure if abandoned is the right word but I'll keep it. Then Thierry springs the news that he's taking a position with The Ring, one that he can't refuse and Sarah feels that abandonment even more and they decide that she's going with him . . . to Vegas.
When they get there is where trouble really starts. In this novel, the trouble isn't exactly Sarah-centric like the "Immortality Bites" novels, but being Sarah, she finds trouble anyway.
First there's a vampire serial killer leaving a trail of bodies behind him and then there is Thierry's investigation of a little vampire child and to make things worst, Thierry becomes the prime suspect in a murder of one of the Ring's alum.
What's a girl to do when her guy's in trouble that might end in him turning to a stain on the floor, she tries to prove his innocence of course! And in true Sarah fashion, she winds up in trouble that almost gets her killed.
I really loved this novel, so much. It was different from the previous Sarah Dearly novels but there were some things that still remained true. Sarah wasn't lacking in her quick wit and sarcastic commentary and stubbornness. Thierry was still his sexy self even in his smoldering, enigmatic way.
The mystery was definitely there because I didn't even guess at who turned out to be the serial killer and the real killer of the murder Thierry was accused. It was a constant guessing game with many suspects.
I loved how Sarah stuck by her man no matter what even when at the start she had doubts of them lasting. Every time, Thierry just expected her to leave, to be done with him but no! Not Sarah. She loved him so much even if he was hundreds of years older than her mere months and sometimes over-bearing and hard to read and he loved her in just the same way even if he wasn't always expressive with it. The moments between them were savored.
I loved the new characters introduced in this novel especially the little Pageant Queen. She was so likable and I totally cracked up every time she called Sarah "puppy" because she hated it so much. For a fledgling vamp, Sarah sure had lots to deal with in the short time of her immortal life.
A great start to an incredible new series, I can't wait to read "Bled and Breakfast" which is coming soon. More Sarah Dearly? SIGN ME UP!

Got Another Hero To Obsess About . . .

REVIEW: The Mighty Storm by Samantha Towle

Most definitely 5/5 stars for Samantha Towle latest! It's an absolute hit that I couldn't put down from the moment I started. I was like a junkie, reading till the very last word. As a fan of her Alexandra Jones Series, I was definitely ecstatic for this novel and it didn't disappoint in any aspect. It had it all, sexy tattooed rock-star? Check. Beautiful, exotic heroine? Check. Lots of Drama? Check. Hot steamy scenes to fog up my kindle screen? Check! Check! Check!
Now if you guys read all my blog posts, I have quite a few heroes that I have mentally formed a relationship with (damn, even that sounds bad). But added to this illustrious list is the sexy, tattooed rockstar, Jake Wethers. He is simply irresistible and I wouldn't even try to resist ;)
Jake and Tru were childhood friends till he moved away and grew up to be a big-time rock-star and she became a music journalist. Tru always loved Jake but she never thought their paths would cross again . . .especially since he didn't try to make contact. But when her boss scores an interview with the bad-boy of rock-n-roll, she wants Tru to do the interview and suddenly Tru seems unsure about how she now feels about Jake. Drop a long-term boyfriend, drugs & alcohol, lots of sexual tension, love and heartbreak and you get "The Mighty Storm."
This was a wonderful story of not just two best friends finding each other again but something of an epic love coming to fruition. Tru has always loved Jake and he's always only wanted her. The emotions, the hurt, the heartbreak . . .everything  was so well written. In the tense parts my heart would be clenching in my chest especially when Jake cried.
For our protagonists, I thought Tru was a strong female lead. She was strong-willed and she basically completed Jake. They were like two halves of a whole. The whole cheating thing, wrong as it may have seemed, I understood why it happened. They just loved each other so much that nothing else mattered. She may have taken too long to break the news to Will, I hated how Jake was hurting over her seeming indecision. She really stood up to him when he started to spiral out of control and I think she definitely made the right call because he wised up and did the right thing. Her reservations about their very public relationship were understandable but in the end, love won out.
Jake! Well  . . . he was the epitome of a damaged hero. He was a recovering alcoholic and drug-abuser. He suffered a melt-down when one of his band-mates died but he was still rocking hard with "The Mighty Storm." He was also irresistibly sexy, with his tousled hair, blue eyes to drown in and tattooed bod. Sigh! Oh and I just have to mention that him singing "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak had me playing this song on a loop 'cuz its such a sexy song!
Him and Tru together were just like a bomb waiting to go off, but in a good way. The way he'd look at her and the things he'd say. Oh and the sexy sexy scenes in the bedroom and out. Sinfully delish! I devoured every scene and wanted more.
Oh and the "Meet Jake" extra at the end was icing on the cake. I loved getting inside the character's head and it was great reading  Jake and Tru's interview chapter from his point of view. You got so much, I wouldn't have thought he was so nervous, thinking the things he was, reading from Tru's POV. A fun little treat at the end of the story.

“I’ve only ever loved one girl, Tru – and that’s you. It’s always been you. I loved you from the moment I knew how to love.”
― Samantha Towle, The Mighty Storm

Ms Towle, you've got a serious hit here girl and I just straight up loved it. I can't wait for what's next and the third installment of the "Alexandra Jones Series." This novel is a must-read and one of my favorite for 2012.

“You ask what I want from you?” His eyes move to my lips, then my eyes. “I want you, Tru. I just want you. All day, every day.”
― Samantha Towle, The Mighty Storm
